Last night a surprise thunderstorm brightened the sky and the rain ran diners from the many outdoor cafes around Salamanca. But it was gone as quickly as it came. And in no time the Plaza Mayor was filling up again with people from the city, tourists, university students. Sservers were busy wiping the rain from the tables and chairs to welcome people back. 

And today I woke to birds singing outside my window, children talking rapidly to parents, the sounds of workers preparing for the day’s activities…and the sun peeking through a crack in the curtain. Yesterday’s warmer weather has been replaced by a chill. But sitting in the sunshine this cooler temperature feels good.  And it’s a beautiful day to explore Salamanca. 

May your journey be good and you find beauty even in the difficult and messy places, even as you find yourself tripping into grace.
