Day 33 a super chill day

We had a good walk to the city of Troyes today. We saw some pretty views and sites.

No where to really stop until we got to Troyes. No breakfast. We had hopes but it didn’t pan out. And so ended up in McDonald’s at almost 1:30. We ordered one meal for the two of us and when it came it was like a kid’s meal. But honestly it was enough.

I saw this advertisement at a bus stop and was so pleased to see that it was listed at Place Rosa Parks!!!

We found our accommodation and it is quite nice. A beautiful view of Troyes.

We headed out to see the Cathedral and stopped by the office of tourism and got a stamp. Then headed to the cathedral which was closing in 20 minutes. We got there just in time. The guy working said we had 15 minutes. We told him we were pilgrims and could we get a stamp which we did!!

We stopped at another church just before closing and were able to get another stamp.

We will be staying two days in Prugny with no restaurants or stores. So we stocked up for three days. Extra weight but it has to be done.

Anyway, 12 kms tomorrow. hope you are doing great.

Day 32 just a quiet day a few pics

It was a quiet day of not having to dive out of the way of cars. We walked along the canal and close to the Seine River. Oh and yes Noel is improving.

Swans on the Seine

We commented that it doesn’t seem possible that we have been walking for 31 days, a month. In some ways it seems we just started.

Our canal walk

We had several conversations with people about where we are going and what we are doing. It’s fun. Well Noël talks to them. It’s all French. 😂 and they are both impressed and think we are nuts.

Hope you are well. Please consider giving to our gofundme that will help with cancer research. Maybe a challenge…we have walked 31 days maybe give $/€31 to our gofundme!! Thank you.

Another closed church.

Day 31 some days are just ordinary

Our first stop this morning was at the eye doctor. The waiting room was full and we came in dripping wet with backpacks. All eyes were on us and then looked away. It was hilarious. People would look and then look quickly away.

Noël had a good report from the dr. Everything was fine except for some allergic reaction. We are surprised because in checking weather/allergies nothing is there. But he could have an allergic reaction to almost anything. Anyway great relief!!

We both commented that it was a meh kind of day. Nothing too exciting nothing too boring. Just okay. But as my dear friend Laura said, “Not every day is note worthy; some days are just days you smile and move on with the day!”

And that’s what we did. The last 3kms Noël put on some music for us to dance our way in to our accommodation. It worked. And walking 31 days seems to have done well for him except for his eyes. 😂😂😂

Thanks for following!!

Day 30 just one more thing…

Wow our accommodation last night was spectacular. And the home cooked meal was delicious!! What a nice find.

Only 8,8 kms today but it ended up being a bit more because we tried to take a detour and it didn’t work out. So we had to retrace our steps. Not too bad only a kilometer or two. We wanted to get off the road and quit dodging traffic.

I want to share a piece of advice to all drivers of vehicles (other than bicycles): when passing by pedestrians or bicycles slow down and give space if you can. It’s is amazing how terrifying cars, buses, and trucks passing by you at a fast speed can be. Just slow down. This of course from someone who has spent the last five years walking or cycling and only being a passenger in a car. But take my word for it you will be appreciated if you can do this.

I’m going to ask if you are the praying sort to say a prayer for Noël. If you prefer send healing thoughts and energy. We aren’t sure what is going on but his eyes are very irritated. We found an eye doctor to see tomorrow morning. So hopefully we will have answers and remedies!!! Being on Camino doesn’t mean that you don’t struggle or have troubles. And you learn to adapt and find solutions as best you can.

Hope you are well. Blessings.
