Last big hiking day

After another wonderful breakfast on the rooftop we decided to try again to find the lighthouse.

We figured out if we hadn’t gone up the mountain we would have found it pretty easily. It wasn’t super easy to get to, well the last 1.3 kms weren’t. It was a narrow path up and down with steep drops straight onto rocks or the sea. Being the clumsy person that I am I worked very hard to keep my footing. Thankfully I did.

The lighthouse is operated by solar panels today and has not been occupied since 1950s. It was built in 1870 and is said to be the prettiest lighthouse in Greece. We found it to be anticlimactic. But still enjoyed our walk. And the beautiful scenery. On our way to the lighthouse we walked through Russian Bay. There used to be a Russian fort here it is no longer occupied.

On our return we showered and decided to have dinner in the afternoon. We tried another place for moussaka and were once again disappointed. It was cold and not really tasty. We decided that we will fix it at home. But the meatballs and tzatziki was delicious.

We also did a little more shopping. Now we have to practice packing and probably buy an extra bag. 😂
