Adjust, Adapt, Accept.

Thursday started off so nice. We woke a little early to get ready for our appointment at the Château de Famaey a local vineyard and winery run by Belgians.

We had an amazing learning experience about grapes and working a vineyard. We found out that September is the month to harvest grapes. I asked if August and September are harvesting months what is happening the rest of the year? Our clever guide said “NOTHING!” 😂😂😂 then she explained the large amount of work that goes on year round.

After that we came back to the house and headed for town to do errands, walking. The weather said no rain before 15 u/3 pm. So at 11 we headed to town. It was a 7 km walk. It would take us a little over an hour. We arrived in town and got to a restaurant and the skies opened.

We decided to eat very slowly. We each had the best chicken Caesar salad ever. (Maybe we were hungry but I don’t think so). And by the time we leisurely had lunch the rain stopped. We headed to the store for our errands and 30 minutes later we’re headed home.*

Before we got to where we had the heavens opened again. We made the mistake of not putting on our rain pants thinking it would stop. It didn’t.

We ducked under trees, awnings and well anywhere we could. We were wet as wet as could be. And we just had to keep going. Next week is the West Highland Way and I’m pretty sure we will have rain.

There were several points along the walk in the pouring rain that I just laughed out loud. Noël asked “what?” “Oh well If you asked me 20 years ago if I’d be having these adventures I would have laughed In you your face. And here I am.” 😂😂😂

Here is our take away:

Adjust, adapt and accept.

Adjust your attitude

Adapt to what the situation is.

Accept your hesitancy and your resilience.

You are capable of more than you think.

Make it a great day.
